Animal Control

What We Do

The Animal Control Office enforces the State of Michigan Dog Laws, handles public safety issues dealing with rabies, and issues dog licenses.  The Gratiot County Animal Shelter is managed by only two Animal Control Officers and an Animal Shelter Officer.  We do not do wildlife control.

Gratiot County Animal Control believes that ever paw counts. We protect and serve humans and animals together.  We strive to find homes for every animal that is in our care.

Animal Control and the shelter is funded through Gratiot County, grants, and donations. Each dollar is worth a magnitude of worth to the animals and our community as we strive to find a home and protect  Gratiot County.

Association Membership

The Gratiot County Animal Control Office is a member of the Michigan Association of Animal Control Officers (MAACO).
