What We Do
As the Treasurer's Office, we handle the financial duties of the county government. All county moneys are deposited through our office and the money in county accounts is invested by our office. We handle delinquent property tax collection and payments. Additionally, the Treasurer's Office, in cooperation with the Animal Control, also sells dog licenses.
Important Tax Information
2022 taxes are sent July 1 and December 1. Contact your local unit if you do not receive your bill
Taxes are payable to the local unit until February 28, 2023.
2021 and previous years taxes are delinquent. Those are payable to Gratiot County Treasurer. Please call for the current payoff amount.
Gratiot County Treasurer and Local Unit Treasurers are not responsible for mortgage / escrowed taxes not being paid. If they are not paid contact your escrow company.
Payment Information
We accept credit card payments for delinquent taxes through Graphite Municipalities.
Graphite charges A 2.75% fee ($1 minimum) for this service that will be charged to your credit card. Most major credit and debit cards are accepted. (Visa, Mastercard, Discover)
Graphite notifies us immediately after payment has been made, and the payment will post to your account once it is accepted by the county.
Foreclosures
2019 property taxes are now in foreclosure. A list of parcels in foreclosure is available for download.
2022 foreclosure auction is online on August 24, 2022.
View foreclosure sale information by visiting www.tax-sale.info.
2020 property taxes will go into foreclosure if not paid by March 31, 2023.
