The Gratiot County Local Emergency Management Committee, Hazard Mitigation Local Planning Team is pleased to announce the completion of a final draft of the Gratiot County Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The Local Planning Team has been meeting monthly since July of 2017 in the process of developing the plan. The plan has been an open collaborative effort among persons and organizations representing; governmental organizations, private business, public interest groups, private citizens, and non-profit nongovernmental agencies.
The process was long and difficult. It encompassed review of; the expired 2014 Hazard Mitigation Plan, county maps and studies, municipal master plans, the county master plan, and other ongoing concerns/projects.
By unanimous vote of the Gratiot County Board of Commissioners at their meeting February 4th 2020 – the Board recommended the final draft plan be submitted to the public for a required thirty (30) day comment period.
